The market for stand-up pouches grows every year. No surprise, as the stand-up pouch has a truckload of advantages to offer.
To begin with, the stand-up pouch is fully customizable according to your wishes and the requirements of your product. The material possibilities are endless and vary from a two-layer low barrier laminate to a fully plastic high barrier material composition.
Does your product require pasteurization or sterilization in order to realize the desired shelf life? At DeeDee, we have a lot of experience creating pouches to sterilize (up to 121 degrees Celsius) or pasteurize your product inside the pouch. Like pouches for soup, sauce, vegetables and ready meals for both babies and adults. It is very important that your packaging solution fits your process of choice perfectly. Pouches for pasteurization and sterilization can even be made from a high barrier material composition of 100% plastic. Which makes it possible to be deposited at a point for plastic waste (depending on the recycling program in your country).
No matter how complex the laminate for the stand-up pouch, still less material is required to produce a pouch compared to most rigid packaging solutions. And that means less waste.
The stand-up pouch (doypack style) can be equipped with additional lay-out options such as a recloseable zipper, euro-hole or tear notches with laser perforation. Of course an excellent placement of your design through high quality gravure printing can be made, as well as your own personalized shape.

Materials
Our multilayer (stand-up) pouches consist of two or more materials laminated together and at least one type of plastic is used in the laminate. A specific type of materials will be advised based on your wishes. Shape, thickness and other features are all adaptable. To guarantee food safety, our suppliers have the necessary food safety certificates (BRC, HACCP) and we can guarantee our pouches are free of Bisphenol A.
Barriers
When your product is in need of protection against water vapor, oxygen, UV-light or dangerous substances such as MOSH and MOAH, we can include a barrier in your (stand-up) pouch. We have different types of barriers to offer, each with specific OTR- and WVTR-values. Possibilities include transparent barriers made of 100% plastics, which provide you with a pouch fully recyclable according to the Dutch recycling organization Plastic Heroes.
Printing
With rotogravure printing up to 10 colors, we make sure your design is translated onto your own (stand-up) pouch. By using the reverse printing technique, we print a mirror image of your design on the inside of the outer layer. This way, it will be protected from damage and won’t come in contact with the contents of your pouch. Possibilities include a partially matt varnish for a premium look and to highlight specific elements of your design.
